one thing lead to another...

So today after I ate lunch with my mom, we were walking to the car. A pile of snow fell from the roof RIGHT behind me o_o My mom was watching and laughed at me. She said that she'd laugh at me forever if that pile of snow fell right on me and the snow'd go down my shirt and stuff. I was like gee, thanks mom. I was thinking about a friend that opened up to me last week about her problems and how I felt like God was going to punish me if I didn't do what I had in mind.... so I did. She's in art area and money is tight so I got her a gift card with a portion of my new years' money. Now to somehow anonymously give it to her Oo 'cause I don't think she'd accept it if she knew the value... Helped someone calm down this morning from an extremely frustrating dilemma but to be honest I don't really know what to say.

Something from my devo today:
Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your heads, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody. - 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12
In my mind I was just thinking, why is God telling me to deliberately be an outcast to society? I'm glad my Bible has some commentary-ish stuff on the side. This is what it says, "You shouldn't obsess over others' opinions of you. Neither should you try to be an outcast. A Christian who lives with integrity and consistency will gain others' respect and a voice to share Christ with them." Then I went, AHHHHHHH I see. :]
Test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid every kind of evil. - 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22
So basically question everything anyone teaches you so you don't absorb mistaken teachings! This goes for bible teachings and academic too; teachers make mistakes too (as we ALL know). Just take caution.
