to be a deep thinker yet simple minded

Acts 3:1-10
The crippled man asked for spare change but was given a miracle.

Perhaps when we ask for God to give us the energy to go through the day or the opportunity to talk to someone, we are asking for too little. I've caught myself on more than occassion saying "God, at least _________" as if He won't let anything greater happen. In the act of being humble, are we neglecting the possibilities of what greater faith can accomplish? I'm reminded of Matthew 17:20 when Jesus said to his disciples, "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing is impossible for you." Just now, did you dismiss his words for exaggeration? I admit I did. I still need to work on this area: to be a deep thinker yet simple minded. Contradicting? I think not. Deep thinker refers to the scope of thoughts but simple-minded is the attitude of thoughts. I sometimes compare it to a road trip; then 'minded' would be where you're going and 'thinker' would be how far you're going. For me, to be a deeper thinker is to dwell more on God's Word and how to apply it, while to be more simple minded is to dwell less in emotions and dwell more in faith.
