For some ODD reason, something clicked in my head yesterday; I was really surprised. A concept from management somehow linked itself to church. I recall praying that God will help my studies be more bearable by seeing connections in things I'm actually passionate about and my studies. So in management there's this concept called total quality management, essentially meaning every worker is responsible for a product's quality. Furthermore, when a product has bad quality, customers complain and tell others about it. For some reason I was thinking how as a church, we bearly know the people in our congregation much less the people from different congregation from the SAME church kind of like how we don't really know everyone from our school or even grade/year. Then I thought about how there are so many people that feel very 'lonely' and feel like no one 'cares' for them at church so they don't go fellowship or just don't really involve themselves with church members. A lot of the time we go to church with view of a customer as if we're going for some intangible service. Then, we complain about how bible studies are so boring or no one talks in small group discussions, always awkward silence, or even gym nights being too sweaty or something. We got to recognize that we are not customers. We are workers and the product is our life and our community. It is not only the bible study leaders, care group leaders, counsellors that contribute to this product, you do too. If everyone's busy drowning in self-pity about how lonely we feel or how invisible we feel, then who will be the ones that care for everyone? Pastors? Coaches? Leaders? And how many can they make feel cared for ALL the time? By complaining, it's not a customer complaint.... it's a worker's complaint. If even the person who makes the product complains about it, what will the public think about it?
Last night was cool :] two friends and I went to surprise someone and gave her an ice cream cake! One of us made it.. so pro, 4 years working at basket robin. There were cute lil' white chocolate bunnies and different flavour min ice cream cones! We had dinner and just chatted the night away.
This morning, I DON'T know why but I woke up at 6:30 =.= grr so sleepy, gotta keep going. KEEP GOING! Even a large coffee did nothing... Oh lent tomorrow! Lent, in the context of Protestant Christianity, is when you give something up for God for 40 days (essentially 40 days leading up to Easter) in preparing our hearts. I'm going to give up Facebook + MSN + games.... it's not 'one' thing but if I only gave up one thing, I don't feel like it's a sacrifice. Someone once shared to me about how sacrifice isn't really sacrifice unless it means something to you, it costs you something. I didn't feel it's a sacrifice if it's only Facebook... so yeah. I wonder if I can do this -.-'' keep me accountable everyone! I will however, have a friend go on my facebook account for wishing people happy birthday.
