at such times as these...

PRAISE to God! I know 15 people that got baptized this past weekend at my church :] I know, I know my church is 'unique' we don't have baptism on Easter weekend. I'm reminded of my initial fire for Christ and I know I should really bring my spiritual life back to God.I've been saying that for a while now haven't I... I'm slowly making my way back. This is the first time that I try to get back on track for my own sake and not for anyone else. Many times I've brought myself back thinking I really need to because of so-and-so, because I'm leading this group... but right now I'm not really leading anyone. This is going to sound weird but last night when I showered (no, not getting inappropriate) I was given an idea. I want to be able to dedicate some time on one day of the week to seriously kneel before God to pray for everyone that I know. Now that's one LONG prayer but I really feel compelled to put that into action and be able to keep up more about the comings and goings in my friends' lives. I'm going to take this one step at a time because this means that I gotta gather prayer items from each individual each week. Hopefully, I can slowly establish this routine so it'll be long lasting.
I wanted to wait until I got my results for my co-op application before I posted another entry and so here it is... I GOT IN! =D No jokes, I seriously didn't think I would get in (if it was by my own efforts), low CGPA. So for all the times my parents think I can't do it and it won't be reality, HA! In your face! haha no, I'm not going to say that to them. I guess I gotta go out and buy some professional clothes sometime though... On a more serious note, this really draws me back to God. It's not necessarily only through hardships that God draws us near to Him. I feel like an agent being sent into a certain situation to bring about a revolt or something haha x)
Last last night, I finished reading Captivating and I'm very (for lack of better term) captivated by the section on "To Mother". It spoke of how we don't necessarily have to be mothers of children to be able 'to mother' others. The authors defined 'to mother' as helping someone become more of their true self and as showing someone the road to healing by encouraging, nurturing, etc. as well as drawing others into a deeper, intimate walk with Christ and relationship with God. I'm reminded of how a friend of mine called me "mama" for sometime (didn't particularly like it but the implications are desirable). Also, on more than one occasion, people have told me that I am very 'motherly'. Hehe this is kind of an aside but I don't want to have kids in the future. Don't get me wrong, I like kids. There are many orphans in the world even one less orphan, one more person to know Him means a whole lot to God. I don't personally think I'll make a good mother though...  Hey, here's another something from the book to end off this post. "When God gives a friend, he is entrusting us with the care of another's heart." Not a burden at all, but an honour and privilege :] keep that in mind for every word and deed you put out there! (applies to me too)
