SO guess what... I finished reading the bible in one year! I'm so very joyous. No, not the kind where it's like "I'm finished with this class, never will I look at this textbook again" kind of joy but the "Now that I've read the manual once through, time to play" joy :] I was so excited to finish that I waited past midnight to read and complete the schedule! I feel like my passion to read God's Word just got more intense =D
Something from devo (Revelation 20-22):
And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God.... They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection... And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.... The lake of fire is the second death. - Revelation 20:4, 5, 12, 14The book of life not only records our acts but our thoughts too. Hmm... second death... I fear not the first death and I shall not fear the second death.
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away... He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away... On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there... Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life. - Revelation 21:1, 4, 25, 27Is this not paradise? A place with no death, no mourning, no tears, no pain, no darkness.... paradise? Paradise that was once lost, paradise lost? I look forward to it and I hope to share it with everyone. What good is hidden treasure that I keep solely for myself? I find it interesting how it says 'Lamb's book of life' and it is through the Lamb (Jesus Christ) that we have salvation.
Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life. - Revelation 22:17I don't understand why it's "free gift". Aren't gifts free? It's not like someone would give you a gift and ask for money back.... right? oO Have you ever rejected someone's gift? Perhaps 'cause it's too costly or you just don't like it... Or have you ever accepted a gift out of courtesy and gave it/threw it away? What's worse, to reject a gift right out front or to accept a gift then give it/throw it away? Hey what about gifts that are just sitting somewhere collecting dust, still in it's box/wrapping? What is your gift of salvation like right now?
